Nothing much to say...just two cuties I met at the Seattle Aquarium!

So, yesterday was an amaaaazing sunshining day and I decided to take my camera out for a walk. She loved it! She hadn't been out in a long time, with all the raining and studying and bad mood. Ok, I take it...my fault.
Anyway, of course I stopped by Kerry Park! You know Kerry Park. You've seen Seattle from it at night and now I give you Seattle from Kerry Park at day time. Great day time!

Any questions why I love to come here and just sit down, thinking about life?

Hi everyone,
I'm sorry it's been such a long time since my last post, I can explain. First I went to Brazil for a month and then came back when classes had already started. No time to breath...
Well, we've been having winter here WA state for the past three months, a very unusual one from what I've heard; not as much snow as they were expecting (maybe just a couple of hours of snow since I came back in January). Very cold, though.
Nevertheless, this was the surprise I got this morning when I drew the curtains and blinds of my bedroom window. Quite a beautiful surprise, wasn't it?

Foggy Lynnwood. One would think this happens early in the morning only. No, no, no. I took this picture when I was going to the gym this week, it must have been around 10 in the morning. Just in case you are not able to notice how foggy it is, try to look through it and spot the green traffic light.

This one goes to all the Grey's Anatomy fans. Seattle Grace does not exist! Well, it does...it's just not a hospital. This is the KOMO-TV building, which is an affiliated of ABC (network responsible for G'sA). The building is located at Fisher Plaza, which puts Seattle Grace strategically close to the Space Needle and the Monorail, two important landmarks. While the indoor scenes are shot in California, this is what you get in some of the exterior shots.

Fun Fact: in the pilot episode, when a helicopter is landing on what is supposed to be the hospital roof but is, in fact, that round area that you can see over there, you can actually see the KOMO 4 logo on the side of the building and the satellite dishes on the roof.
Sorry, this was supposed to be together with the other one...
Nothing to say...just wanted to show the Space Needle...

Seattle on a cold, rainy night - beautiful under any circumstance! This is the view from Kerry Park, probably my favorite spot in the city. Because it is on the south slope of Queen Anne Hill we are provided with an spectacular view of Downtown Seattle, Elliot Bay and the West Seattle peninsula. During the day we can even see Mount Rainier. There's a plaque on a wall here that says "Kerry Park [was] given to the City in 1927 by Mr. and Mrs. Albert Sperry Kerry, Sr., so that all who stop here may enjoy this view". It is indeed deeply soothing. Either night or day, there's no way one can regret coming here. I never get tired of it... So, if you ever come to Seattle, check it for yourself!

Fun Fact: the park appears in the very beginning of the film "10 Things I Hate About You", with Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger.

So, the post you saw prior to this one was the first day of snow. It was nothing compared to the SECOND day. At this point I feel obliged to break my rule and post a picture where, not only do I appear, but I'm standing instead of sitting. Anyway, take a look at my street on Monday evening... It's a pity you can't see the color of the sky...it was a beautiful shade of violet. You guys have no idea of how much fun we had here with all the snow!!!

This one was taken a few hours earlier, Azulao (Bruna-movel) was not half as covered as it came to be later that evening.

After running around in the snow we decided to make a snowman, of course! Let me introduce you to Godofredo. Notice the cars behind him (I refuse to call Godofredo 'it'). Godofredo was biiiiig!!! Aaaaaannnnnnd...he was SITTING!!!

Last night I had a major insomnia crisis and could only fall asleep when it was almost day time. I woke up at about 09:30 feeling terrible. Went downstairs to get some breakfast and what I saw took my breath away. Yep, our first day of snow!!! It must have been around 1 degree C, the porch was covered but the birds would still come to feed from the bowl we put for them outside. I'm sorry I don't have a picture of our chubby birds but believe me, Mother Nature has delivered again! Praised be the Lord!

As some of you already know I volunteer in an animal shelter here in Lyynwood - PAWS. Every Friday morning, from 09 to 12 I walk the dogs. That's reason enough to make Fridays the best day of the week!!!
Anyway, as I hadn't really shown Autumn here I figured that this would be a good example - these are parts of the route where I walk those lovely lovely creatures!

Look what I found in a shop here...Britto Collection!!! Romero Britto!!! I don't remember the exact price but I remember it was quite expensive. I was so proud...

As you all know I am here in Seattle, this amazing city! But unfortunately my dearest friends are very far from me. Nevertheless they wouldn't be my dearest friends if they didn't make efforts for me...as they did on Sept. 25, 2010 - Little and Carlos' wedding day. On that day I had gone to Portland, Oregon, but I had taken my laptop with me so I could try to watch the ceremony. After walking around in a shopping mall I finally found a quiet corner in Barnes and Nobles bookshop where I could plug in my computer and access my skype account. Back in Brazil everything was ready: Andrezinho's laptop, Duda's father-in-law's Internet stick, Fernando's patience to hold the computer the whole time, Jannine and Rangel in the band, my beautiful girls there... I couldn't have asked for more. And of course the bride and groom - who were absolutely gorgeous!!!
Thank you for being there for me. I love you all very much!

On a sunny day, from west Seattle (area of amazing flats and houses), the Puget Sound and more of the city on the other side. By far the most beautiful view of Seattle I have ever seen, both during day and night time. But unfortunately (or not) you have to be here to really appreciate it!

The weather might not be perfect, but Seattle is charming at any time from any angle!

I know it is already Autumn time but these pictures were taken when it was still Summer. This was my second time going to Mount Rainier. The first time was in June and everything was completely covered in snow. It was simply amazing to be able to savor this dazzling display of God's creativity! I'm sorry but I have no words to describe how I felt that day...

Hey guys! Do you remember Kurt's bench from the beginning of the blog? I finally had the chance to take my own pictures of it. After going to SAM for Kurt's exhibition I decided to stop by Viretta Park, which is also called Kurt's Park, and here is some of it.

This is one of the funniest and most disgusting spots in Seattle, the Wall of Gum (or Gum Wall). It is actually the wall of the waiting line for the Market Theater which is, of course, near Pike Place Market.
Doing some researches I found that this wall was named one of the top 5 germiest tourist attractions in 2009. Needless to say I put my chewed gum there too!
Ah, have you ever watched Love Happens, with Jennifer Aniston and Aaron Eckhart? It is set in Seattle and the wall is actually part of a scene. It's a good film...

I am now at Madison Park and these are the waters of Lake Washington. It is a very beautiful area of Seattle and the people who live in these houses have an astonishing view of Lake Washington and Bellevue.

From Madison Park we have access to Madison Beach, which is my favorite type of beach...not salty water!!! The day was a bit cold but I decided to put my feet in the water and it was surprisingly delicious.

I took this picture from the beach and the city you see across Lake Washington is called Bellevue. Because of its proximity to Redmond, home of Microsoft, Bellevue changed from just a satellite city of Seattle to an edge city, recently ranked as the 4th best place to live and one of the 25 safest cities in America. Thank you Mr. Gates.
The access from Seattle to Bellevue is by the awesome Lake Washington Floating Bridge, which is one of Seattle's landmark.
Oh, can you see Mount Rainier on the background?

Madison Beach is super clean and the reason for that is this sign that teaches people what to do when they come here. Just the same as in Boa Viagem...

The year was 1971. The venue, Pike Place Market. The name...
This was the first store of Starbucks coffee which is now the largest coffeehouse company in the world with 17, 133 stores in 49 countries. Since many of their products are seasonal my favorite right now is the iced tea passion flavor. (I have to say I'm trying my best to right American English). this store is in front of the Public Market below.
